On 28 March 2002, three guests from the Shandong University of Science and Technology (SDUST) in the Peoples Republic of china visited ACCI. The delegation was headed by Professor Wang Mingzhen, the vice president of SDUST and included Drs. Xiao and Zhongom from the materials science faculty.
They came to visit (Tony) Xiu-jiang Song who is at ACCI researching the effect of suphuric acid on a range of concretes. This is important in sewer structures and in acid soils. Professor Wang expressed his appreciation to ACCI on behalf of SDUST for supervising Tony's research.
The group were very interested in the Centre's concrete technology research; including research into Non Destructive Techniques for assessing the durability of marine structures, acid resistant concretes and repair mortars.
Professor Wang expressed interest in furthering the relationship between the two institutions.
