  DEFECTS AVOIDANCE STUDY CONTINUES

With seventeen industry partners, the ACCI is entering the second phase of a major study targeting the elimination of construction defects, whose rectification is estimated to represent between 2-6 per cent of all construction costs in Australia.

Marton Marosszeky is leading the research team to develop strategies to implement these new management tools and techniques on six construction sites across Sydney.

The Phase II study will also look at measuring the organizational cultures and the level of employee involvement on various sites participating in the project, in order to improve employee motivation.

Lead researchers: Prof. Marosszeky, Dr. Karim, Dr. Davis, Salinda Perera

Industry partners: Ajax Plumbing, Barclay Mowlem, Baulderstone Hornibrook, Cubic Interiors, De Martin & Gasparini, Farrell Management, Fugen Holdings, Hastie, Kone, Mainbrace, Acoustic Logic, Multiplex, Polyseal Waterproofing, Reed, Star Electrical, Walter, and Waterman AHW.
