ACCI is proposing to undertake research into the behaviour of structures which have been upgraded using fibre reinforced polymer sheets and plates.

We are seeking to establish what interest industry has in such a project, including whether the scope or the detail of the program should be amended. We are aware that several friable reinforced polymer based repair systems are commercially available in Australia, based on mostly European testing and design modelling. We believe that the existance of mature concrete structural elements and an experienced Lead Researcher, Dr Patrick Zou at UNSW, provide a unique combination which permit verification of the behaviour and assessment of fibre reinforced polymer sheets under Australian conditions.
