The ACCI, together with several industry partners,
is about to develop an on-site Virtual Reality (VR) safety-training
package for the construction industry. The technology will ensure
that workers will not be exposed to hazardous environments while
in training. The training package will be available in different
languages to improve the accessibility of safety training for migrant
workers.
The VR based safety-training environment is expected to be cost
effective, and will be designed to be flexible, to suit all learning
circumstances.
As well, the VR simulation is envisioned to be the first part of
a comprehensive Knowledge Management System that will integrate
all of the elements necessary for active learning— knowledge
about Risk Assessment, Hazard Identification, Safe Working Procedures,
Effective Communication, Skills Training, Assessment and Correction
of Risk Takers.
